Chaplains receive training

Four local police chaplains attended a week-long training session at the Georgia Baptist Campground in Norman Park, sponsored by the Georgia Law Enforcement Chaplain’s Association (GALEC). Chaplains David Epps of Sharpsburg and Paul Massey and Bill Shelton, both of Peachtree City, all represented the Peachtree City Police Department, while Chaplain Brian Brimer of Senoia represented the Senoia Police Department. Shelton and Brimer attended the 32-hour course, “Chaplain Basic Training.” Epps and Massey, both third year students, took a 20-hour advanced course. Epps and Shelton serve as clergy at Christ the King Church in Sharpsburg. Massey is pastor of Fayetteville’s Church of the Holy Cross. Brimer serves at The Vineyard Fellowship in Senoia. Shown above, left to right, are Epps, Shelton, GALEC President Kenneth Lewis, Brimer, GALEC Past President Marc Crandlemier and Massey. Photo/Special.
