Carley earns Eagle rank

Eagle Scout Ben Carley

Ben Carley has earned the highest advancement award from the Boy Scouts of America - the Eagle Scout Award.

He is a member of BSA Troop 71, with C.G. Lawrence as Scoutmaster. Carley is also a member of the BSA honor society, the Order of the Arrow.

 In achieving his Eagle Scout rank, Carley earned 30 merit badges and held the leadership positions of Den Chief and Patrol Leader. His service project consisted of building trash can receptacle holders for his neighborhood community of Stonebriar, in addition to landscaping around the holders.

Carley is a student at Fayette Middle School where he is a member of the Symphonic Band, Percussion ensemble, football team, track team and Beta Club. He is also a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

Ben Carley is the son of David and Lori Carley, brother of Eric and Chris Carley of Fayetteville, and grandson of Carl and Burma Rutherford of Montgomery, Ala. and Dale and Nan Carley of Griffin, Ga.
