It was back in the summer of 1981 that Bob Adams Homes started on a path that would ultimately deliver the gold-standard in homes for Seniors and Empty Nesters.

That segment of the population wasn’t glamorous or popular back then and most builders ignored them. However, because this group has grown to be the largest part of the homebuilding market, many builders are scrambling to become “overnight experts” in a field that Bob Adams Homes has grown with and understands so well.

“We listened to our customers early on and found that they weren’t just looking for a home, they were looking for a lifestyle that included open floor plans and a well-constructed home with a lawn maintenance program that allowed them the freedom to spend their time the way they wanted to,” says Bob Adams, President of Bob Adams Homes. That “lifestyle” focus resulted in Bob Adams Homes’ signature homes with open, user-friendly floorplans incorporating features such as wider doorways, zero thresholds, and rocker-style light switches that later came to be known in the industry as Easy Living and Universal Design features. In 1992 Bob Adams Homes was awarded the “Best in American Living Award” by the National Association of Homebuilders for a model home incorporating these features.

Bob Adams Homes’ steady focus on the wants and needs of the customer has resulted in the “Bob Adams Homes Customer Care Program” which was developed in 1992 to provide an engaging and pleasant homebuilding experience. “Many people just can’t believe the amount of time we spend with them during the process of making all the decisions and selections involved in building their home. But over the years we have found that it is a great investment in their satisfaction and enables us to efficiently deliver the fine craftsmanship they want and are expecting,” according to Tommy Futral, General Manager.

In 1996 Bob Adams Homes was again first in the market by providing another program that no other builder in the area was then, nor is now providing - the “100% Complete Program”. “This means there are no punch list items to be completed and no workers coming through your home after closing. Your home is 100% complete the day you move in,” says Sherri Babb, Director of Homeowner Services. As a result, Bob Adams Homes’ customer satisfaction and referral ratings are among the industry’s highest – which says a lot about why the company has thrived for 25 years.

“If I had to describe what makes a Bob Adams Homes community different, I think it would be that over the years we’ve learned how to put all the pieces together to provide a really satisfying lifestyle experience for our customers,” says David Vinson, Director of Marketing. “We work hard at listening and understanding our customer’s needs. We know they don’t want “cookie cutter” homes; they want to personalize them so we provide so many pre-priced options it sometimes seems like we’re custom home builders. That flexibility, along with the open design of the homes, the low maintenance exteriors and the lawn management program, provide an unmatched opportunity for them to enjoy the freedom to focus on their families, friends and hobbies rather than the upkeep of their homes.”

That is what has made Bob Adams Homes’ current communities such as Lora’s Place in Newnan, Emory Springs in Fayetteville, The Enclave at Heron Bay in Henry County, and Carillon Park in Macon so successful.

Bob Adams Homes has built over 1,500 homes in 25 Communities since 1981, and demand for this lifestyle has been steadily growing. Bob Adams is convinced that “most active adults really just want to simplify their lives and right-size their homes in an elegant neighborhood that provides a unique social environment, a strong sense of security, and consistent, high quality lawn care that protects and enhances the value of their homes.”

That is exactly what Bob Adams Homes has been doing so well for 25 years.
