The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) recently received several national awards that recognize our programs, services and member recruitment efforts.

In August, two National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Awards of Excellence were given to the HBA for Best Service Delivered to Members and Best Communication to Members-Directories Published. The HBA’s Homeowner Handbook was recognized as the Best Service, and the HBA’s 2005 Membership Directory was recognized as Best Communication to Members.

In May, the HBA received two additional awards from NAHB based on recruiting efforts during the 2006 National Membership Drive and National Membership Day on May 23. The HBA recruited 273 new members during the membership drive-the most by any other local homebuilders association in the country.

The HBA’s Atlanta 50+ Housing Council also recruited the most new council members during the membership drive.

“Each award recognizes the outstanding effort, commitment and achievement of my association and the hard work of our staff,” said David Ellis, HBA executive vice president. “To receive these awards is a great compliment.”

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) is a 4,100-member, not-for-profit trade association affiliated with the Home Builders Association of Georgia and the National Association of Home Builders.

The HBA is the second largest local homebuilders association in the nation and is dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving home ownership by maintaining the housing industry as a viable economic force in the Atlanta area.
The official charity of the HBA is HomeAid Atlanta, a non-profit organization that builds and renovates transitional housing for metro Atlanta homeless families.
