The Peachtree City Water and Sewer Authority will discuss its proposed 2007 budget at its regular meeting Monday night.

General Manager Larry Turner said he is not going to recommend a sewer rate increase although the agency’s revenues have declined somewhat. So far, the authority has managed to make do without a rate increase despite the loss last year of its largest industrial customer, Photocircuits.

The downturn in revenues was serious enough for the WASA board to push for a plan to provide sewer service to Senoia which would have provided more income to WASA. That plan was subsequently turned down by the Peachtree City Council.

Turner said he would likely review the sewer rates for a potential increase next year, as the authority’s policy is to review the matter every two years unless a significant event occurs that triggers such a review.

WASA will also consider Monday an agreement with Peachtree City that will formalize the current arrangement whereby the city performs vehicle maintenance and accounts payable services for WASA, Turner said. In the past, the city has billed WASA quarterly for the services, based on the amount of hours spent on each task for the agency, Turner said.
