First Noel November coming this Saturday

By MICHAEL BOYLAN

With the passing of Halloween, the focus is now put on Christmas.

The approximate 50-day wait begins with the fifth annual Noel November celebration, sponsored by the Fayette County Board of Realtors.

Noel November is the annual fund-raiser for the Realtors. Each year, they offer an afternoon of entertainment, craft exhibits and a showing of wreaths and trees. That night, there is an auction for the wreaths and trees and the money raised goes to local nonprofit organizations. Over the past four years, the group has raised close to $40,000.

This year the event will be at the Kiwanis Fields over by the Recreation Department on Redwine Road. Area choirs will perform and light refreshments will be available. There will be a children's craft corner and a scheduled visit from Santa Claus, as well as more than 40 different themed trees and wreaths. The afternoon exhibiting will end at 4 p.m.

The auction will begin at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Century 21 Southern Crescent in Fayetteville, Coldwell Banker Fulton County in Peachtree City, or the office of the Fayette County Board of Realtors on Brandywine Road in Fayetteville. If a tree is purchased at the auction, it will be delivered the following day.
