Peachtree City-based Crown Andersen Inc. announced late last week that Andersen 2000 was awarded a $417,000 contract from the United States Navy.

Andersen 2000 will design and build an advanced shipboard incinerator to process solid wastes on several classes of navy ships.

The contract calls for Andersen to furnish a test unit to the Naval Warfare Center for test and evaluation, and includes an option for navy to purchase a second unit. The option is valued at $378,000 with the project set to be completed in 2000.

The new owners at IMPACT Health and Fitness Club are focusing their efforts on making sure their members leave the gym as satisfied customers.

The club, formerly known as Fayette Family Fitness, is undergoing a wholesale change to make the club more “user-friendly” for the customer.

Spearheading Team IMPACT is Ron Shaw Jr., who has over 20 years experience in the health and fitness field.

One of the new programs at the club is a Yoga class. Yoga is the latest addition to the club's large variety of aerobic programs, including body sculpting, cardio kickboxing and senior fitness.

IMPACT also provides on-site child care and Planet Smoothie for the perfect refreshment after a stress workout.
