There is an occupation that involves lots of travel and an intensive amount of baseball viewing, research and discussion.

Lady Chiefs take second in region

The 4-AAAA regional softball tournament was held last week, with only a few delays due to inclement weather. The McIntosh Lady Chiefs entered the tournament knowing that one of their toughest games would be in their inevitable meeting with the Fayette County Lady Tigers. The two teams had split during the season.

American Cancer Society's Annual Ball this weekend

The American Cancer Society will hold their annual Fayette/South Fulton Hope Ball this weekend. The weekend gala will be held on Oct. 8 and 9. The sponsor party will be held at the Aberdeen Woods Conference Center on Oct. 8 with music provided by “Voice of the Southland Band”. The ball will be held at the Airport Marriott on Oct. 9. Silent and live auctions will be happening along with dinner and dancing to the sounds of “JustUs.” The theme this year is Masquerade.

Fall festival on Saturday at Brooks Elementary

Brooks Elementary School will hold their annual Fall Festival on Oct. 9 from 11a.m.-3p.m. Their will be family fun for all ages with games, prizes, pony rides, tatoo and hair painting, a pumpkin carving contest, and a 16 foot slide.
