Leigh Ann Harris of Fayetteville has been named by the local Eckerd store as its honoree in the company-wide Eckerd Salute to Women program.

More than 2,900 honorees were selected for their hands-on volunteer spirit and 100 of those chosen will be picked as the Eckerd 100. Each Eckerd 100 receives a $1,000 grant in her name to the nonprofit organization of her choice and an invitation to attend a symposium on volunteer and women's issues Oct.8-10 in Atlanta.
