Division races heat up in church league softball
The Fayette County Recreation Department's church softball league is nearing the end of its regular season. After this week, teams will have only two games left before the playoffs.
 
Diamonds go worldwide, heading to world series
It has been a busy summer for the Southside Diamonds. The Diamonds are an under 18 softball team made up of players from Fayette County and their play has taken them to the NSA State Tournament, as well as across the Atlantic Ocean on a European tour. The team is full of some of the more premier players from the local high school programs and they are used to winning.
 
Lightning 83 play gold ball and finish bronze
 
Oklahoma, the state that launched one of the most famous musicals of all time, hosted the Region III soccer championships recently. Fayetteville's AFC Lightning 83 Gold team, the Georgian U16 Boys champions, traveled to Edmond, Okla. with dreams of winning big.
