The Fayette County Recreation Department's church softball league is nearing the end of its regular season. After this week, teams will have only two games left before the playoffs.

There is a pretty good picture of how each division is shaping up, but some divisions will go down to the wire.

In the women's division, New Hope is in first place with a record of 11-1. In their last game, they beat up on Kenwood Christian 17-2. Flat Creek is in second place at 9-2. They battled Woolsey Baptist in their last match, winning 20-16.

Both The Rock Baptist and Fayette First Baptist had double forfeits in their last games, each taking a loss. Corinth Baptist (6-5) and First methodist (6-6) are in third and fourth respectively. Corinth won its last match 7-0 over First Methodist.

Flat Creek “A” leads the men's “A” division with a record of 11-1, but New Hope Blue isn't too far behind with a record of 9-3. New Hope Blue actually edged out Flat Creek 15-10 in its last game. Fayette First Baptist “A” and Southern Crescent are tied for third, each with a record of 5-7. Southern Crescent faced the last place Kenwood Christian “A” team Monday, while Fayette First Baptist had to take on Flat Creek “A”.

The men's “B” division is incredibly tight. Fayetteville Christian is in first place with a record of 7-2, but First Methodist is right behind at 6-3. River's Edge “B” is in third place at 7-4 but can move up with a win over Fayetteville Christian tomorrow night.

Flat Creek “B” is at .500 with a record of 5-5. They defeated New Hope Green 18-14 in their last game.

The men's “C” division is exciting because of two teams with the same record. Harp's Crossing “C” and Rolling Hills Baptist are tied for first in the division with records of 11-1. The two teams faced off last night after the paper had gone to press. Fayette Presbyterian is in second place with a 6-6 record.

The men's “D” division is open to four teams, with Woolsey Baptist in control with a 9-1 record. They will face the third place Kenwood Christian team tomorrow night with hopes of putting some more distance between themselves and the other teams. Harp's crossing “D” is in second place with a 7-3 record. They get a chance to play Woolsey on Friday night at 7 p.m.

The men's “E” division is another tight race. Fayette Community leads the division with an 8-2 record. In their last match, they edged out the second place Fayette First Baptist “E” team (7-2) 14-13. LDS Whitewater is in third with a 6-2 record while flat creek “E” is in fourth at 5-5.

The post season tournament will soon be here, but there are plenty of exciting games that affect the standings dramatically. Games are typically played Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
