Neighborhood swim team pools talent

Sports and competition can thrive on any level. In fact, often, the higher levels of athleticism and drive exist on a local level, where dreams start out small and the dedication is to the pure ideals of the sport, the athlete and his or her surroundings.

That seems to be the case for the Woodcreek Waves swim team from Fayetteville. They are a neighborhood swim team looking for other local neighborhood teams to compete with.

They will have their second competitive meet of the season at home July 15 at 6 p.m. against the Lakemont Lightning swim team.

The Waves swim in the Woodcreek neighborhood pool on Woodcreek Drive in Fayetteville. It is an interesting idea because many subdivisions in both Peachtree City and Fayetteville have community pools and can be used for a much lower cost than what some of the more premier teams that exist in the area pay.

The Waves were formed by Lynn Tacoronti, who would like to help other neighborhoods form teams for a competitive swim league. She can be reached at 678-817-1065.
