• Two Fayette County residents recently received service awards as faculty of Clayton College & State University, and one local resident gained tenure.

Five-, 10-, 15-, 20-, 25- and 30-year service awards were presented to 60 faculty and staff, along with special awards for retirees. Faculty members gaining tenure status and promotions also were recognized.

Jack R. Moore of Fayetteville was honored for 15 years of service.

Among the Five-Year Award winners were Nancy Tupper and Dr. Kevin P. Demmitt of Peachtree City.

Gaining tenure was Dr. Daniel E. Hallock of Peachtree City.

Photocircuits Corporation in Peachtree City has awarded college scholarships to students from six area schools.

Students qualified for the scholarships through academic achievement, financial need, career path, and community involvement.

Of 93 applicants, there were 11 scholarship recipients and three runners-up. Each scholarship winner received a $1,000 check for educational purposes and an opportunity for a summer internship at Photocircuits. Each runnerup was offered a summer internship at the Peachtree City facility. The total value of the awards exceeded $50,000.

Fayette County recipients include Jeremy Granier, David Massey, and Keelan Seabolt from Sandy Creek High School; Bryan Schmid, Michael Parsons from McIntosh High School; and Zach Brock and Nick Mastronardi of Fayette County High School. Maggie Watts and Jeff Cook were runners-up from McIntosh High School.
