• Life — Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy play two New Yorkers who get put into the Mississippi Correctional facility for a crime they didn't commit. Rated R.

• The Matrix — Wow. This movie has everything. Great action, strong cast performances, a good story and amazing visual effects. See this film. Rated R.

• The Mummy — Brendan Fraser stars in this thriller about a mummy and the curse he brings with him when he comes back to life. The Mummy looks like a young Carl Reiner when he's fully reformed.Rated PG-13.

• Never Been Kissed — Drew Barrymore stars as a cub reporter going undercover in high school. David Arquette also stars. Rated PG-13.

• Notting Hill — Julia Roberts plays a Hollywood starlet who stumbles into a quirky Englishman's book store. They may not be stretches for the actors but, hey, it's a summer movie. Rated PG-13.

• Shakespeare in Love — Will Shakespeare be able to complete his play, Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's daughter ? Not if he can't find his muse.This film garnered 13 well deserved Oscar nominations. The acting, writing and direction are impeccable. Rated R

• Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace — There was not enough Dath Maul but it was still an incredible movie. Rated PG.

• Ten Things I Hate About You — This is a movie based on The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare. Foodie and I checked it out and we enjoyed it. It is a nice, light film that makes you want to fall in love all over again. Rated PG-13.

• The Thirteenth Floor — Reality is questioned when a killer emerges from a virtual world and stalks scientists. Rated R.

• Trippin'— This is an urban comedy about a young man who has a very imaginative mind and spends most of his time daydreaming. Rated R.

• Baby Geniuses — Any movie is worth a dollar. This one is about the secret language of babies and the people who wish to make money off of it. Rated PG.

• Carrie 2 — Just like the original except with more gore, a less stellar cast ( No Travolta) and a heavy metal soundtrack. Rate d R.

• Cruel Intentions — A remake of Dangerous Liasons with a twenty something cast. It's a hot little movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar (TV's Buffy). Rated R.

• The King and I — Someone had the not-so-bright idea to make a classic musical a cartoon with cute animals and dragons. Rated G.

• Lost and Found — David Spade tries to be a leading man and ends up at the dollar theater faster than a Beverly Hills Ninja. If anyone desrved a snide comment, he did. Rate d PG-13.

• The Mod Squad — This movie was so boring. It has an appealing cast and a groovy soundtrack, but this movie is 18 miles from hip. Rated R.

• My Favorite Martian — A Disney remake of the show popular when my parents were kids. It got to the dollar theater pretty quick to show how much today's kids care. Rated PG.

• Payback — Mel Gibson plays a bad guy who plans on getting even with even worse bad guys. Rated R.

• Prince of Egypt — The story of Moses becomes an animated tale. It held my interest and stayed away from being overly preachy. Let your people go...see this. Rated G.

• The Other Sister — Perhaps if this movie was a thriller about mentally challenged people in love and the people trying to stop them, I'd be interested. Rated PG-13.

• Saving Private Ryan — I saw this last week. It is riveting. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. Rated R.

• She's All That — This is the story of a popular boy making a geeky girl feel like a queen all to win a contest. And then he realizes he loves her. Awwww.Rated PG-13.
