Weddings & Engagements

 

Aven-Brown

Mr. and Mrs.. John David Aven of Fayetteville announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Kathryn Blakely, to Jason Carter Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Youngblood of Senoia and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Brown of East Point.

The bride-to-be is a 1995 graduate of Fayette County High School and a earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations and marketing from Georgia State University in 1999.

The groom-elect is a 1994 graduate of Lovejoy High School and is a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He is employed with Delta Airlines.

The wedding will be June 12 at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville. The couple will reside in Senoia.

 

Heacock-Craig

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heacock of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Marisa Colleen, to F. Scott Craig, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Craig of McDonough.

The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and practices at the McDonough Animal Hospital.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Henry County High School and is a housing inspector for Henry County.

Following a June wedding, the couple will live in McDonough.

 

Matthews-Burnett

Mr. and Mrs. Randy Eric Matthews of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Amanda (Mandy), to Michael Brian Burnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oglesby Burnett, Jr.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Claudia Roberts Baucom and the late Earl Rayford Woodard, Jr. of Cordele.

She is a 1994 graduate of Fayette County High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications from the University of Georgia in 1998. She is employed with Holder Construction Co. as a database administrator.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Felton Leavell Rainwater and the late Robert Oglesby Burnett, Sr. of Griffin, and Willard Jasper Clark and the late Betty Autrey Clark of Griffin.

He is a 1991 graduate of Fayette County High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1996. He is employed with Holder Construction Co. as a senior engineer.

The wedding will be June 26 at 6 p.m. at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

The couple will reside in Powder Springs.

 

Wood-Kearns

Mr. and Mrs. Ben William Wood of Trinidad, Colo., announce the marriage of their daughter, Taralyn Drift, to Colin Patrick Joseph Kearns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Kearns of Peachtree City.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Hoehne High School, Hoehne, Colo., and a 1998 graduate of Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colo. with an Associate of Arts degree with educational emphasis. She presently attends Cameron University. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa. She is employed by the Lawton Family YMCA.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas and a 1997 graduate of West Point Military Academy with a degree in environmental engineering. He is a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Sill, Okla. He also is attending Webster University working towards his Master's degree in management.

The wedding was May 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton, Okla. The couple will reside in Lawton.
