Ordination services set for Fayette's 'Fernando'

Fernando Molina Restrepo, known to Holy Trinity and St. Gabriel Catholic Church parishioners simply as “Fernando,” will be ordained to the priesthood Saturday, June 12 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Kennesaw at 10:30 a.m.

He will celebrate his first Mass Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at St. Gabriel's in Fayetteville, where he served as a seminarian intern in the summer of 1996. A reception will follow.

Restrepo's first assignment following ordination will be at Holy Trinity as a parochial vicar. He served there as a seminarian intern last summer. Holy Trinity will host a dinner for Restrepo's family and friends Saturday evening.

Restrepo is a native of Anserma Caldas, Colombia. He is one of eight children of Maria Enoe-Restrepo and the late Luis Gildardo-Molina. He studied economics at the Military University in Bogota, and studied philosophy and did missionary work with the Archdiocesan Seminary of Monterey, Mexico, completing his philosophy studies at the San Jose Archdiocesan Seminary in Bogota.

Restrepo earned a master's degree in divinity in 1998 and second masters degree in religious education in 1999 from St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa.
