Events The Fayette County Youth Soccer League is accepting registrations for the Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS) for physically and mentally challenged boys and girls, ages 6 to 19. The cost is $40 per year, and we are hoping to participate in the Special Olympics in May, in the 8 through 15 age group. Call Pete Folds at 770-719-8276 for additional information. The Soccer Centre of Fayetteville is offering an indoor/outdoor youth soccer camp on June 14-18 at the Centre from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Full and half day camps are available for boys and girls age 5-14. There will be specialized goalkeeper training each day with the emphasis on small sided games. The annual meeting for the Fayette County Baseball Association is Sunday, June 13 from 2-4 p.m. New board members will be elected at that time. The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is accepting registrations for the Summer Indoor Youth Soccer League. Play begins June 21 and ends August 22. the summer league is for recreational teams (Under 6 -Under 16), High School girls teams and boys Under 19 open teams only. The registration deadline is June 7. he season will consist of 7 games with no playoffs. There are no practices and games are played on weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. The Lightning Soccer Club has set tryouts for the Fall 1999 season for all age groups from Under 10 through Under 18. The Georgia State Soccer Association allows tryouts to begin on the following schedule: Athena (girls) all ages on June 1 and Premier and Classic (boys) on June 7 or 14. Fast pitch pitching and catching camps will be offered on June 21 and 22 and fast and slow pitch hitting camps will be offered on June 23 and 24. The Fayette County 4-H Shooting Sport is sponsoring a public modified trap shoot on June 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shoot will be on McDonough Rd, across from McCurry Park. The cost is a $5 donation per 25 clay targets. Loaner guns and ammunition are available. The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is accepting applications for the Summer Indoor Adult Soccer season. Leagues will be formed in the following divisions: 30 and Over men, Coed, and Mens' Open. 30 and Over and Coed will play on Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning June 15.
