Pioneers forge brave territory

The Elmira Pioneers, sponsored by PTC Eye Center, are winding up another outstanding season of machine pitching. To date, they have not lost a game thanks in part to the tremendous firepower in their offensive lineup that has made this all-star team tough to beat.

The strength of batters like Kyle “Slugger” AuBuchon, Nathan “Speedy” Eznor, Brett Hanes, Jonathan Long, Michael Parry and Kyle Petty, have been extremely impressive.

Also contributing to the success of the team has been a strong defense led by Jonathan Abell, Daniel Callahan, David Dalessandro, Luke “Skywalker” Kable and Hendrik Meyer.

Brett Hanes hit his first-ever grand slam this season and was awarded the game ball. The team wrapped up the season this week and plans to have a celebration pizza party where trophies will be awarded to all of the players for their outstanding efforts.
