A one-car accident over the weekend has left its lone occupant in critical condition at an Atlanta hospital.

Aaron Ramage was on Sams Road in north Fayette County at about 3:15 a.m. last Sunday when his car ran off the road and crashed, according to Maj. Wayne Hannah of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

Ramage, who had just turned off Lee's Mill Road, was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed due to the severity of the impact and the intrusion onto the car it caused, Hannah said.

There are currently no indications of what might have caused the accident. Results from blood tests will not be available for several days, according to Hannah.
