County gets some good news from DOT

Georgia DOT Commisisoner Wayne Shackleford announced the recent approval of a road improvement contract for southeastern Coweta County.

The project consists of the resurfacing and general improvement of .23 miles of roadway on McCollum Sharpsburg Road at its intersection with Lower Fayetteville Road. The interesction lies north of the cities of Sharpsburg and Turin near the Coweta/Fayette line.

While contract preparation has begun, construction on the project cannot begin until the contract has been signed and a work order issued.

"We are all proud that through innovative leadership, Coweta County's local roads are being improved, Shackleford said. "Improvements like this one ensure that Coweta County will be able to maintain mobility for all its citizens."
