Organizers of the Jesus Video Project Georgia are encouraging Christians to pray each day between now and March 28 for specific areas related to the direct mailing of the gospel video to every home in the state. During these 40 days of prayer, Christians are also being asked to consider fasting each Monday. The prayer requests for this week are: Today: Pray for church services Easter morning. Psalm 63:2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Thursday: Pray that God's word will penetrate the soul. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper that any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing sould and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Friday: Pray that many are added to the body of Christ. Acts 2:47 ... praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Saturday: Pray for changed hearts after viewing the video. Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Sunday: Pray for strengthening of the churches in Georgia. Acts 9:31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit; it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.
* * * Excerpt from the Unity Prayer Rally, held Feb. 7 at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City: "Prayer evangelism is so simple," said Houses of Prayer Everywhere director Al Vander Griend. "It's as simple as believers praying for their neighbors and being available to God. "God wants his world changed," he added. "Instead of drive-by shootings, he wants drive-by prayer; he wants the jails empty and the churches full." Vander Griend said when Christians fail to pray, it is like Moses on the mountainside when his hands were dropped, the Amalekites pushed the Israelites back. But when his hands were lifted, the powers of darkness were banished.
