Candidates to address local Republicans Saturday

Fayette County Republicans will hear candidates for the county and 3rd Congressional District party chair positions during their regular monthly breakfast Saturday at 9 a.m. at Baci Italian Restaurant in Fayetteville.

Lane Watts and Eric Dial are seeking to become county chairman; district candidates are Fayette's Peter Pfeifer, Steve Hicks of Pike County and Barbara Scruggs of Coweta County.

The Fayette County Republican Party will convene precinct mass meetings March 20 at 9 a.m. at Fayette Middle School, Grady Avenue in Fayetteville, to elect delegates and alternates to the Fayette County Republican Party Convention.

The County Convention will start at 10 a.m. the same day at the same location to elect delegates and alternates to the Congressional District Convention and State Convention, and to elect officers for the county party.

Fayette residents who are legally registered to vote and believe in the principles of the Republican Party may participate.

The 3rd Congressional District Convention will be April 17 at 10 a.m. at the Henry County Performing Arts Building in McDonough, Ga.

The Georgia Republican Party State Convention will be at 2 p.m. May 21 in Augusta, Ga.
