Flap develops over Photocircuits' expansion plans in PTC

Some Peachtree City residents, mostly in Planterra Ridge subdivision, apparently are mounting a campaign against a proposed parking lot expansion at Photocircuits Inc. in Peachtree City.

Located on Dividend Drive to the east of the subdivision, the company received approval from the planning commission Feb. 22 for a "conceptual site plan" to expand its parking lot by 122 spaces. The item is set for the City Council agenda for Thursday March 4, 7 p.m. at City Hall.

City staff members have received numerous pre-printed cards opposing a "variance" for the company.

A city source said it is possible that the opposition is meant to try to stop any future expansion of Photocircuits' actual plant, but the council agenda item may be tabled at the company's request. The company uses mechanical and chemical processes to produce high-tech circuit boards for automobiles and other uses.

The council also is expected to consider a rezoning request for the "Lallande" property east of the intersection of Walt Banks Road and Ga. Highway 54; a request from the McIntosh Dugout Club, and codification of the city's ordinance book.

Plans for the city's 40th birthday party March 9 also will be announced.
