Jeff Sheppard has been waived by the Atlanta Hawks. The
team had invited him to their mini-camp in June and he had
played with the team at Life College during the lockout. Sheppard
had played in several of the Hawks games this season, usually in
the final minute of the game. The coaches express regret at
having to let the young player go but their bench is deeper than in past
years and the deadline to cut players is rapidly approaching.
Sheppard hopes to continue to play in the NBA and there
are plenty of teams that could use a hard working guard and the
1998 Final Four MVP.
