Just in time for Valentine's Day and Presidents'
Day weekend getaways, Delta Air Lines introduces weekly
Web fares, deeply discounted fares on tickets purchased via
its Web site, SkyLinks, www.delta-air.com, for travel that
same weekend.
Beginning today, Delta will post special fares
every Wednesday for round-trip travel that weekend to and from
a variety of U.S. destinations. Customers can book travel
on-line to these destinations with deeply discounted
prices. Passengers using the Web fares may depart each Saturday
and return the following Monday or Tuesday.
"Those who haven't already made plans for
Presidents' Day or Valentine's Day weekend can take advantage of
these great discounts on-line. Ten, customers can take a look
at these special fares every week and plan weekend
getaways throughout the year," said Patrice Miles, director of
distribution planning.
Additionally, Delta customers soon will be able to
register on Delta's web site to receive automatic e-mail notification
of the special fares available each week from their area.
Customers may even specify that they would like to receive
e-mail notification only when specific destinations are featured
for travel that week.
After purchasing on-line, Delta Web fares participants
will travel with electronic tickets. When arriving at the airport
for departure, they need only present their valid identification
to check in and receive their boarding passes.
In addition to enjoying the sale fare savings,
DeltaSkyMiles members earn up to 1,000 bonus SkyMiles for
ticketing online.
"Programs like Web fares are part of our efforts to
continually update and enhance SkyLinks to provide values
and convenience to our customers," Miles said.
