Regarding the Mews: The Peachtree City zoning board and city council have effectively done the job they are supposed to do. All legal protocol was followed. Everyone had a chance to have their say. Anyone who wants to shop at Parisian should drive to Atlanta.Anyone who wants a major shopping mall with three counties worth of traffic should move back to where they came from. No matter what is built on this land, at least it will not be the equivalent of the Fayette Pavilion. The Mews, no matter how quaint, should never be mistaken for anything less than what it was a major shopping complex with major road congestion. The case is closed. The city council should be sure it remains so. The media should cease writing articles that imply otherwise. Callaway and clan should quit whining and graciously find a new location... somewhere else. The Mews may have been the cat's pajamas, but now it's just a past-tense meow. If we can avoid any further stripification of Peachtree City's avenues than has already occurred, then perhaps the town can complete its original mission of being and staying something unique and special, not a major mall or chain store destination.
