PTC priest to lead new CEC church

This Friday at 7 p.m. marks the beginning of a new mission church being established in Fairburn under the auspices of the Charismatic Episcopal Church of North America. This new congregation, Prince of Peace CEC, is pastored by the Rev. Father Raymond J. Greiner of Peachtree City, formerly on staff at the Cathedral church in Thomaston, Ga.

The CEC, according to Greiner, is the fastest-growing denomination today with over 1,000 churches internationally. Established in 1993, the CEC encompasses the three streams of expression sacramental/liturgical, evangelical and charismatic.

Friday's liturgical service of praise and worship will be celebrated by the Right Rev. John W. Holloway, bishop of the Diocese of Georgia, from St. Michael's Cathedral in Thomaston.

It will be a combined service, including members from St. Michael's, Christ the King in Peachtree City and The Church of The Holy Trinity in Smyrna, Ga. Music will be provided by the worship teams from Christ the King, under the direction of the Rev. Deacon David Jones, minister of music, and St. Michael's, under the direction of Elaine Holloway.

Everyone is invited to attend this premier service at 7 p.m. (with reception to follow), at 104 Campbellton Rd., in the church formerly occupied by St. Matthews Catholic. Sunday service times to be announced. For more information call 770-631-1679.
