Coweta County's unemployment rate remained unchanged in November, according to statistics recently by the state's labor department. The rate remained at 3.2 percent and state Labor Commissioner Marti Fullerton said that's not surprising. "Unemployment rates are usually at one of their lowest levels during this time of year. That's because sales clerks and other service workers are hired temporarily for the holiday shopping season. This year is no exception, as virtually all of the new jobs are tied to the holiday shopping season," said Fullerton. In the Chattahoochee-Flint region, the number of employed residents grew by 1,350 to 123,836. Other rates in the region included: · Carroll, 3.9 percent, down from 4.2 percent. · Heard, 5.4 percent, down from 6.0 percent. · Meriwether, 5.0 percent, down from 5.4 percent. · Troup, 4.1 percent, unchanged. Georgia's unemployment rate declined to 3.8 percent in Nov., down from 4.1 percent in Oct. The state's jobless rate was 4.0 percent in Nov. 1997. Ê
