Registration for Inline Hockey begins January 9,1999 at the Kedron Field House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Peachtree City Roller Hockey league is open to children ages 7-15. A copy of a birth certificate is required at registration and the child must be older than seven but younger than fifteen as of March 26, 1998. The fee is $75 and safety is stressed. Children must wear a HECC approved hockey helmet with cafe, mouth piece, elbow pads, hockey shin/knee guards, protective cup and hockey gloves. Registration for The Fayette Youth Track Team runs from Jan. 18 to Jan. 30 at the Fayette County Recreation Department. Registration is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The child must be between the ages of 7-14, who are not currently enrolled in a middle school or high school track program. The cost is $40 per child with a $5 discount for each additional sibling that registers. Please bring a copy of the paticipant's birth certificate. Fee includes the cost of the uniform and meet fees. Participants will be measured for uniforms at registration.Practices will begin on Feb. 23 at McCurry Park. Assistant Coaches, timers, field coaches, judges and parents interested in fund-raising/concessions are needed. The 10 & Under Georgia Baseball Association traveling baseball team,based in Peachtree City, is holding an open tryout on January 23 between1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. These tryouts will be held on Field 3 of the"South 74" sports complex in Peachtree City. The tryouts are open tocompetitive players from surrounding cities who were born on/after August 1, 1988. The team will play a highly competitive baseball season all around Metro Atlanta. Soccer

The Fayette County Youth Soccer League will be conducting registration for the spring soccer season on Jan. 9,16, 23 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will take place at the McCurry Park Soccer complex concession building on Jan. 9 and 30 and at the Indoor Soccer Centre on Jan. 16 and 23. The costs for boys and girls are as follows: Under -6 is $40, Under- 8 is $70, and Under-10 through Under-19 is $80. New players need to bring a copy of their birth certificate. Practice begins the week of Feb.22, games begin March 5, and the season ends in the middle of May. Additional information may be available on the answering machine at 770-460-7811.

The Fayette Youth Soccer League and the Georgia State Soccer Association will be offering soccer coaching classes in the month of February. The "F" class will be Saturday, Feb.13 and the "E" class will be Feb. 19-21. Call Chris Williams at 770-461-3869 for additional information.

The Fayette County Youth Soccer League is still accepting registrations for the Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS) for physically and mentally challenged boys and girls, ages 6 to 19. The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is accepting registrations for the Spring Indoor Muppet Soccer League for four and five year old players. The season runs from Friday, April 16 to June 5. All games will be played on Monday or Friday evenings. The registration fee is $40 and includes a team t-shirt. Registration will be held Saturdays Feb.13 and Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Soccer Centre. International Soccer and The Soccer Centre, Inc present the Atlanta 4-A Side Championship Series for all players and teams to be played at the Soccer Centre Jan. 18, Martin Luther King Day. and Feb. 15, President's Day. There will be separate divisions for Open, Recreational and High School teams, both boys and girls. The age groups are: Under 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19 and High School.The main arena at The Soccer Centre will be divided into 3 smaller fields and the small arena will provide four tournament fields. Each team will play eight games in the round robi tournament. Teams will consist of a goalkeeper and three field players; each team may have up to two substitiutes. The tournament fee is $85 per team per tournament or $150 for both tournaments. The registartion deadline is one week prior to tournament date or whenever the tournament is filled. Registration is now open for The Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp. Boys and girls ages 10-18 are eligible. Past participants include Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Grant Hill and Antawn Jamison. The Fayette County High School Booster Club is sponsoring the 1999 Fayette County High School Sports Hall of Fame Banquet. The banquet will be held on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in the commons area of Fayette County High School. Tickets are on sale now at Fayette Sports and space is limited.

The Brooks Area Recreation Department has announced their registration dates for the 1999 dixie youth baseball season in Brooks, Ga. Registration will be Saturdays, Feb . 13, 20 and 27 fro 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Field House complex at The Ball Park in Brooks and the Administration Complex- Room 212 in fayetteville. The show is sponsored by the Georgia Wildlife Federation and offers contests, exhibitions and the lowest prices on equipment from around the world.Doors are open from 1 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
