Tim Jones Communities Inc. of Jonesboro was the recipient of a top award at the annual Professionalism Awards Banquet, held recently at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Approximately 1,000 people attended the black-tie awards dinner and program produced by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council to recognize the most outstanding professionals in Atlanta's home building industry. The program offers members of its 4,200 plus member association an opportunity to compete with their industry professionals in building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement areas. This year, 42 industry professionals traveled to Atlanta from across the United States during August to judge more than 550 entries. Tim Jones Communities, which is based in Jonesboro, received a Gold Award, a four-sided crystal obelisk, as the top winner in the category for Single Family Detached Homes in the $100,000 to $129,999 price range. The winning home, located in The Meadows on Tara Road in Clayton County, is Tim Jones Communities' "Charlton" design. Both The Meadows community and the "Charlton" design were spotlighted in a full page feature article in the Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Homefinder section. The winning "Charlton" design is also being used as the sales center at Prestwick, Tim Jones Communities' neighborhood in Prestwick at River's Edge Plantation, also in Clayton County. Tim Jones Communities is headed by Tim Jones, who in October became the president of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and who is a former president of the Metro South Home Builders Association. |
