The Chamber Singers of Landmark Christian School recently presented their fourth annual Madrigal Dinner to raise funds. Group members said they are looking forward to visiting New York City in the spring, thanks to the proceeds raised by the event. Along the way, they will be performing in various churches and schools. Led by David Wells, director of fine arts at the school, there are 22 students who comprise the Chamber Singers. A madrigal is a medieval short lyrical poem that originated in Italy during the 15th and 16th centuries. The musical form became popular during the same time in Elizabethan England. The menu for the Chamber Singers' Madrigal Dinner consisted of Hotte Spyced Wosseyle, Letuse Sallade, Tendre Buffe, Potato, Sauted Vegetables, Bround Rounded Loofe and, of course, Christmesse Desserte.
Celebrating its 10th year, Landmark Christian School is located in Fairburn and occupies the former Campbellton High School. It has a current enrollment of 770 students, grades K through 12, and offers bus service from Douglasville, Fayetteville, Riverdale, Peachtree City and East Coweta County. |
