Help preserve legacy of WWII vets and workers

Letters from Our Readers

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

I would like to ask your cooperation in my effort to reach as many World War II veterans and defense workers as possible.

Given the narrow window of opportunity still remaining, would you please consider using some form of the following letter to inform the World War II generation of Florida State University's effort to preserve their generous legacy of duty well done.

Thank you for your assistance in this important matter.

To all WWII veterans, defense workers and families:

Help save the personal legacy of World War II. The experiences and memorabilia of those who served in the armed forces and defense industries so often discarded is a valuable part of this nation's history.

The Florida State University Department of History has set up The Institute on World War II and the Human Experience to collect and preserve this physical heritage for research, teaching and exhibition.

If you or someone you know has letters, diaries, photographs or other mementos of the period, please contact the Institute at the Department of History, Florida State University; Tallahassee, FL 32306-2200 (telephone 850-644-9033).

We will be delighted to send an information packet or answer any questions concerning donation of materials to the Institute and their future use.
