Divine appointments and thanksgiving
You and I are truly blessed to the degree that if we got serious about admitting how God had taken care of us and our families over the years that we would fill up this newspaper with true thanksgiving.

Georgia Baptist Convention
Georgia Baptists meeting at their annual convention amended their constitution Tuesday to remove churches that "affirm, approve or endorse homosexual behavior," but fell 5 percent short of the two-thirds majority needed to pass the amendment to remove any church that "separates itself from historic Baptist tenets through non-biblical worship practices" including the encouragement of members to speak in tongues, being "slain in the spirit" or to engage in "divisive and disruptive worship practices."

Descendents of founding members of Lisbon still in county
The names associated with the charter of the Lisbon Baptist Church in 1889 are names of families who still reside in the area: Jones, Travis, Adams, and Kerlin.

Sandy Creek Baptist Church to host community Thanksgiving service
Sandy Creek Baptist Church will be hosting the community-wide Thanksgiving service Sunday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. The Rock Baptist Church, Fellowship Baptist Church and Bethany United Methodist Church also helped to organize the service. The Rev. Darryl Hudgins of The Rock will be preaching at the service.
