New commissioner to seek more public input

Letters from Our Readers

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Words cannot begin to describe my absolute amazement with the results of the General Election! I believe the message was loud and clear that you want elected officials who represent the homeowners, businessmen and residents of our county.

I am humbled and honored with your show of support. A special thank you to all of the many, many people who worked on the campaign, who made phone calls on our behalf, walked neighborhoods in the heat of summer, and who went to the polls and voted.

As a means of making sure that I maintain close contact and accountability with all of you, I will be setting up Neighborhood Action Group (NAG) meetings. The purpose of these meetings is to hear the concern of your particular group/neighborhood and to share with you any pending actions the county may be contemplating that will directly affect you. Please contact Mary Shaver at 770-719-9428 to schedule my attendance at your meeting.

In addition, I will be starting a news letter on the "net" that will attempt to keep you informed on what is going on in the county. If you want to contribute information about activities, provide me with "updates" or ask questions that might be of general interest to others in your community or if you want to make sure that you are included on the mailing list, please contact me at vote Linda@aol.com. This site should begin about the middle-late January 1999.

Again, thank you for all of your support and my pledge to you remains that of my campaign: to serve with honesty, integrity and accountability. Together, we will reclaim our county.

Linda Wells
County Commissioner-elect
