Auditions set

for apprentice

production

Offshoot Productions will have auditions for the apprentice production of "The Trial of Goldilocks" Sunday, Nov. 22 from 2-4:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place in Peachtree City. Auditions are by appointment for this comedy in verse, which calls for about a dozen performers. An additional audition will be scheduled in early January.

Applications will be considered from anyone interested in theater and without professional acting experience. Technical apprentices interested in design, props, lighting, etc., are also encouraged to apply. The minimum age for an apprentice is 13, and adults of all ages are welcome. In addition to apprentice positions, one role is available for a child, male or female age 10-12, to play Baby Bear.

"The Trial of Goldilocks" is a loopy fairy tale taking place in the courtroom where Goldilocks and the three bears take their dispute after she is discovered in the bears' home. In addition, a curtain raiser which calls for audience participation will be created during rehearsals.

The acting focus of the apprenticeship will be on improvisation, space objects, and dealing with verse. Apprentices will also gain experience in the backstage aspects of theater. Apprentices rehearse the play, attend acting workshops, and assist in the professional production of "What Doesn't Kill Me..." in late January. "The Trial of Goldilocks" is set for March.

For information or an application form, call Offshoot Productions, 770-631-2362, or e-mail to offshootpr@aol.com.
