Richard Petty driving school to open soon
By MICHAEL BOYLAN
It is the dream of many young men and women to become
race car drivers. There is a need for speed that transcends gender,
race and creed. Previously, if this was your dream there were few
outlets and opportunities. That will change as the new year
approaches.
By January 1, 1999, the Richard Petty Driving Experience
will be open and fully operational at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The operational office will be self sufficient with its own staff,
mechanics and fleet of cars. The Petty driving experience will start
with between six to eight vehicles.
"Richard Petty Driving Experience is one of the premier
driving schools in the country, " AMS President and General
Manager, Ed Clark said. "As the site of Richard's last race and the
home of the Petty Grandstand and Petty Garden, Atlanta Motor
Speedway is pleased to have this new affiliation with him." Racing is
very popular in Georgia and the course should be no different. For
