Starting Oct. 1
ParkPass prices
cut in half

The 1998 Annual ParkPass, which offers unlimited admission to Georgia's state parks, will be available for half price starting Oct. 1, 1998. The pass is valid April 1998 through March 1999, so the discounted pass will be good for six months.

The Annual ParkPass is a money saver for people who enjoy hiking, fishing and camping in Georgia's 48 state parks because it exempts them from paying the daily $2 parking fee. The pass can also be purchased as a gift for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

From Oct. 1, 1998, through March 31, 1999, the Annual ParkPass will cost $12.50 ($6.25 for senior citizens, $9.38 for disabled veterans and $4.69 for senior disabled veterans). The 1999 Annual ParkPass will be available for full purchase price in late March.

To purchase a ParkPass, stop by any state park or call 404-657-9851. ParkPasses are not valid at Stone Mountain, Lake Lanier Islands or Jekyll Island because these attractions are not operated by the Dept. of Natural Resources' Division of State Parks and Historic Sites.
