An eclectic mix of arts, crafts and antiques will occupy the grounds of Heritage Park this weekend as the Rotary Club of Fayetteville and Main Street Fayetteville combine efforts to put on their annual Fall Festival. According to Main Street director Sherrie Anderson, 120 exhibitors will show their wares Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will reopen Sunday at noon and close at 5 p.m.

Art will include oil paintings and water colors, jewelry and hand-thrown pottery. Craftsmen will display woodworking, dried flower arrangements, needlework and ceramics. The antique corner will feature dolls, glassware, coins, furniture and various collectibles.

A children's area will feature rides and activities for younger set.

The Rotary has an expanded food court for this year's event, with Chicago's Finest Barbecue Ribs and Chicken from Atlanta making a special appearance. Anderson said the restaurateurs took top honors in radio station V-103's cook-off on Memorial Day for their specialties. In addition to the normal festival fare of funnel cakes and boiled peanuts, additional concessions will be on hand to sell pizza, burgers, hot dogs and more.

Entertainment will liven up the weekend with the Allen Goodman Band, playing rock 'n' roll oldies, and Southpaw, kickin' with top 40 country hits.

A special appearance Saturday by the 530th Air Force Band between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. will be a highlight of the day's musical offerings.

"For the first time ever, we're having a big name concert in the evening," Anderson said. Kid Brothers are scheduled to play popular oldies at 7 p.m.

Admission is free and parking will be available around the Fayette County Library and the church parking lots behind the Fayette County Court House.
