A unique property situation will be the subject of discussion during tomorrow night's Tyrone Town Council meeting. Town manager Barry Amos said Jas Hughes is requesting a de-annexation of his residence at 265 Crabapple Lane for one reason it's in two cities at the same time. Part of the property is located in Tyrone, while the other part is in Peachtree City. Amos said Hughes is asking for the de-annexation to eliminate the confusion on which municipality should respond in an emergency situation. The property has always been in two jurisdictions and Amos said the unusual straddling of the line occurred before he became the town's manager. In other matters, the town will consider a request by local gas station owner Salim Ali for relief from the town's prohibition against internally lit signs. Ali has been talking with city officials for the last three months about allowing him to have an internally lit sign at his Texaco station. Amos said Ali's attorney and the town's attorney were trying to reach a solution on the problem. The town council meets tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at Tyrone Town Hall.
