I would like to express my apologies for the behavior of the Newnan football team, coaches, and most of the fans during the game between Newnan and Fayette County Friday night. I do not know whether Newnan was cheering when one of your players was hurt because it was a good hit or they were just happy to see the player down. I do know that the kind of behavior that was displayed was very embarrassing to some of us. Although there is a great amount of rivalry between the two teams, each player is still an individual and a child for that matter. Although I know that no one on or affiliated with the Newnan football team will ever make a formal apology, I would like to apologize for the discourtesy that was displayed during the game.
