Kendall Taaffe, daughter of Tom and Margaret Taaffe
of Peachtree City attended the Spectacles Math & Science Came
for Middle School Girls this summer at Wesleyan College. Taaffe,
who attends Woodward Academy, was selected to attend the camp from
a large number of middle school students in the U.S.
Spectacles is a two-week residential camp designed for
middle grade girls who are gifted in mathematics and science. It is an
academic program of the Duke University Talent Identification
Program. Students participate in two field trips and work in the
college's science labs, electronic classrooms, arboretum and
wildlife sanctuary and study with math and science faculty.
