Military Briefs
Marine Cpl. Chad A. Phillips, son of Samuel
Phillips Jr. and Susan Piraino of Peachtree City was promoted to his
present rank while serving with the Marine Aviation Logistics
Squadron 16, Marine Aircraft Group 16, Third Marine Aircraft Wing,
Marine Corps Air Station Tustin, in Santa Ana, Calif. Phillips was
promoted based on sustained superior job performance and
proficiency in his designated specialty. He graduated from McIntosh
High School in 1994 and joined the Marine Corps in May 1996.
Damion R. Leimbach has graduated from the Army
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Advanced Camp at Fort
Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. At the camp, Leimbach completed a
five-week course which included intensive military leadership training
and evaluation exercises in communications, management, and
survival training. After successfully completing advanced camp
and graduating from college, Leimbach is commissioned
as second lieutenant to serve in the U.S. Army National Guard
or Reserve. A 1993 graduate of Fayette County High School, he is
a student at the State University of West Georgia and is the son
of David and Dianne Leimbach of Fayetteville.
