Gunnin replaces Tyrone town manager Barry Amos on the panel. County commissioners have prepared a certificate of appreciation to Amos for his two terms of service on the commission, but Amos was unable to attend a recent meeting.
*More money is coming to Fayette's cities. The cities will split $3,012.46 in special purpose local option sales tax funds that were collected over the previous nine-month period but arrived in state coffers after funds for that period had been distributed.
* Joseph Sams School will get a boost for its building program from the Fayette County government. County commissioners last week presented a $10,000 check to the school to help with construction of its new home. School officials recently broke ground for the building on Brandywine Boulevard in Fayetteville.
* The Fayette Family YMCA will manage the county Recreation Department's high ropes course at McCurry Park from now on. County commissioners recently approved the organization's proposal to take over the course.
