Website offers tips on remodeling your home

Homeowners are remodeling more now than ever before. In fact, the remodeling industry is now more than twice the size of new construction and the gap is widening. Instead of packing up and seeking larger spaces, homeowners need www.nari.org the remodeling information web site.

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) offers homeowners advice to help protect themselves during remodeling projects. At www.nari.org, homeowners can learn how to interview contractors, check their contracts, plan budgets, and keep their home and family safe. The site includes a special section, called "Red Flags," that address warning signs you shouldn't overlook. For additional information and advice, visit the "Homeowner Help" section and order a free magazine entitled, The Master Plan for Professional Home Remodeling. The magazine offers 90 pages of tips for having a successful remodeling project.

To find contractors in the Atlanta area, stop by the NARI-Georgia Chapter website at www.nari.org/Atlanta for all the help you need. You can even learn design secrets from the professionals. If you don't have access to the internet, call the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) at 1-800-440-NARI (6274) for your free copy of the Master Plan magazine and a list of NARI contractors in your area. Or call the NARI-Georgia Chapter at 404-766-7179 for a free listing of contractors in your area.

NARI is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to enhancing the professionalism of the remodeling industry. NARI served as an ally to the nation's homeowners for more than 55 years.
