General Manager for the Atlanta Hawks Pete Babcock was the featured speaker at Coach Madden's Shooting Stars Basketball Camp at Braelinn Elementary. Babcock stressed the importance of following your dreams and went over some practice drills with the team.

Peachtree City Little League Baseball has extended its team registration for ages 7-18 through Aug. 8 for fall baseball. For more information, call league records coordinator John North at 770-487-8081. The cost is $60 per child. The first practice is Aug. 17. The team plays through Oct. 17.

L. Mac Turner of Newnan got a hole-in-one on hole No. 8 at Bremen Lakes Golf Course on Cashtown Road in Bremen, said course owner Bob Sanders. Turner was not a member before his lucky hole-in-one, but "he's going to be now," Sanders said.
