Bad Links? | East Coweta Band eans awards at contestThe East Coweta Marching Indians traveled to Warner Robins October 1 for the eighth annual Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational. There were 25 Georgia bands competing that ranged in size from the 35 band members of Dooly County High School to the 200 members from Northside High School. The Marching Indians continuous hard work and many hours of practicing resultedin all Superior ratings with Best in Class trophies for color guard, percussion, brass and overall band score. The woodwinds placed third in Class AAA. The Marching Indians also did very well in overall band placement for the day, receiving first place overall for Visual/Music Effects, second overall color guard and third overall brass section. The grand championship honor went to Forsyth Central with East Coweta placing a very close 1st runner-up. East Coweta faces three more competitions this marching season including the Bands Of America competition at the Georgia Dome in November. |
