Murphy named senior VPKathy Murphy has been named senior vice president for Prudential Georgia Realty. She will manage the newly formed Southern region of metro Atlanta and will be responsible for branch offices in Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Douglasville, Stockbridge and the upcoming McDonough location. Kathy had previously served as managing broker of the award-winning Peachtree City and new Fayetteville offices. An Atlanta native and long-time Fayette County resident, Kathy Murphy comes from a family of real estate professionals. The Disharoons are well known in the Fayette area for starting Tri-City Realty Services. Prudential Georgia Realty bought the residential division of Tri-City Realty Services in 2002. "We have long been committed to expanding our service area south of Atlanta. We felt it was important to have a senior executive available to concentrate solely on the Southern Crescent region of metro Atlanta, so we created this position," stated Prudential Georgia Realty President and CEO Dan Forsman. "Kathy Murphy is a perfect fit for this position. She is an experienced and respected member of the real estate community and our company." Kathy spent 19 years at the family-owned real estate company, serving first as a sales associate, then the relocation director and trainer and, finally, managing broker. She has been a managing broker with Prudential Georgia Realty for three years. Kathy was named the Women's Council of Realtors Member of the Year in 2000 for the Georgia chapter. This year, she was honored by the Fayette Board of Realtors as Realtor of the Year. She is a past president of that organization. "I am committed to maintaining and expanding Prudential Georgia Realty's presence in the Southern Crescent," said Murphy. "We have a terrific group of agents down here and I am honored to be directing and assisting them."
