Bad Links? | Air show patrons urged to ride carts, busesBy JOHN MUNFORD The best way to get to the Great Georgia Airshow Saturday and Sunday at Falcon Field in Peachtree City is on a golf cart. There will be golf cart parking at two locations near Falcon Field, but a very limited amount of parking is available nearby for regular autos, police said. A separate golf cart lane will be established on Dividend Drive stretching from TDK Boulevard all the way to Ga. Highway 74. That stretch of road will be made one-way only for through traffic, which will travel southbound, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. both days, according to Capt. Stan Pye of the Peachtree City Police Department. Motorists wanting to attend the show are better off going to the campus of Starrs Mill High School on Ga. Highway 74 south, Pye said. A bus service will be running continually, ferrying passengers to the air show and back to the high school parking lot, Pye said. The golf cart parking lots are on Echo Court and in the Southpark industrial building just north of Falcon Field near the intersection of TDK Boulevard and Dividend Drive. We are encouraging people to bring their golf carts to the event, just because of the traffic congestion in the area, Pye said. |
