Services will be at the Senoia United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Oct. 5, with the Rev. Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Interment will be at the Senoia City Cemetery. Survivors include his parents, W. Ellis and Patricia Yarbrough Crook; a brother, Greg and Janet Crook, Peachtree City; a sister, Cheryl and John Thompson, Senoia; a nephew, Gregory E. Crook; and a niece, Jordan Crook. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, is in charge. Emily Moyer StanleyEmily Moyer Stanley, 80, died Aug. 30, 2005. She was born Sept. 22, 1924 in Atlanta, daughter of Harley and Imo Cheek Moyer. She died of a congestive heart failure, and had chosen to have her body donated to Emory University Hospital. She was a graduate of Joseph E. Brown Junior High and Commercial High School. At 17 she moved to Washington, D.C., to work for the War Production Board for two years. Returning to Atlanta, she accepted a position with the Veterans Administration Hospital. She had a long career in the electrical industry, retiring in December 1989. She moved to Fayetteville in 1994, and was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class, as well as the Womens Missionary Society. A memorial service was held at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include sisters, Betty Hogg, Fayetteville, and Martha Morgan, Sandy Springs. She was a special aunt to five nephews; two nieces; and 16 great-nephews and nieces. Richard L. HeltzelRichard L. Dick Heltzel, 76, Peachtree City, died Sept. 13, 2005. He was born Aug. 26, 1929 in Hellam, Pa. He was active in a chamber of commerce, the Methodist church as a past president of the Lions Club. He was a private pilot and enjoyed traveling. Memorial services were at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty J. Heltzel, Peachtree City; children, Georgia and Donald Goodrum, Fayetteville, and Brenda and William R. Sloan-Crocker, and Tina M. Baker, all of Peachtree City; and granddaughter, Candice J. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Akers. He had a passion for rescuing animals and was upifted by Gods promises. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Buena Vista, Colo. She was born in up-state New York and was reared in Indiana. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Ann Crutchfield Loyd. She was graduate of St. Francis College and Ball State University, receiving an advanced degree at Georgia State University. In 1969 she moved with her family to Georgia. She enjoyed living in the South. She coached the cheerleaders in Fort Wayne, Ind., and continued her teaching career as an assistant professor at Atlanta Metropolitan College. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. She was born March 1, 1932 in Etowah County, Ala., the daughter of Lee Earl and Flara Hendrix Dollar. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Hoffman. She was employed by Porex Technologies for 28 years and had also worked at Georgia Baptist Hospital for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening and seeing things grow. She was a member of Fayetteville Church of God and a former member of First Baptist Church of Newnan. Services were at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Jerry Young, and the Rev. Dr. Gene Tyre officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newnan. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge. Herbert P. WellbornHerbert P. Wellborn, 84, Sharpsburg, died Sept. 30, 2005. He was born in 1921 in Madison, son of Jesse and Sue Wellborn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Wellborn, and a sister, Thelma Towler. After graduating from high school he worked on the farm until enlisting in the United States Army. In World War II, he was in the Signal Corps and built and maintained telephone lines for General Mark Clarks Fifth Army. He served in North Africa and Italy. After returning home, he continued to farm in Madison until moving to Atlanta, where he ran a milk delivery route. He later owned and operated laundry and dry cleaning service routes. Before retirement, he and his wife moved to Winter Haven, Fla., owning and operating a coin laundry. In 1998 they moved to Sharpsburg to be near family. Services were at the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert McCurry officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, with military honors. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ann Wellborn; daughters, Paulette and DeWayne Thomas, Fairburn, and Judy and Jim Baxter, Hahira; and a sister, Martha Malcolm, Covington.
