Bad Links? | No school Mon. or Tue. in FayetteThe Fayette County School System announced late Friday afternoon that all schools in the county and the central office will be closed Monday and Tuesday. This is in response to a special request by Gov. Sonny Perdue, who asked Friday for school systems across the state to voluntarily shut their doors for two days as a precautionary measure, in case of a possible disruption of fuel distribution due to Hurricane Rita, which was closing in on the Gulf Coast as Perdue made the announcement at a Friday press conference. The two days out of school will be treated as snow days and will not have to made up. All extracurricular activities for Monday and Tuesday are also cancelled, according to a statement by the school system. Monroe Roark |
